I put this down in my house a few years ago and It has been great for the most part. It isn't as scratch resistant as they say so make sure to be careful when moving heavy things around on it. We've installed felt pads on all appliances and furniture to help mitigate that issue. We've also been through a water leak and a hurricane where I had to pull up large sections of the floor to replace the soaked underlayment. I would recommend a more foam based underlayment to go with your vapor barrier underneath. I switched to that before putting it back down after seeing how soaked the original stuff got. Having said that, the planks themselves are fully water resistant and that's been great in these instances. Also, trying to get transition pieces for the brand and color we chose was very difficult even 9 months after we bought it, so if you can get it all at once I recommend that (and always by a bit extra). Cost. Quality engineered wood was 3x more. I am very happy with my LVP. I understand why 3/4s people doing their floors choose it. If I were building my forever home, I would’ve used a quality engineered hardwood or solid wood. But i’m not so I didn’t. More on reddit.com

Installed ~1000sqft of Lifeproof bought at HD last year. Price, look, and availability were the main factors. It's been working well, no scratches, quiet to walk on, and it's also been surviving fine in an unheated sunroom in the north east. My advice - make sure your subfloor is as flat as possible. After the first room I took a belt sander to plywood subfloor joints and high spots, it helped a ton consistently getting boards together and laying flat. Also, keep a big bristle brush with your hammer and bar etc, brush out the board joints every time - the smallest piece of whatever will prevent a perfect seam. More on reddit.com

I appreciate your post because we were debating using it in our sunroom. The primary reason was that it was thin and would help us avoid a height differential from the house, which is getting 5/8 engineered hardwood. Secondary rationale was that the room would get more animal, kids, sand traffic and might hold up better? Maybe it’s better to just accept the height transition. We’ll probably remove/renovate the sunroom in 10 years, so longevity isn’t a huge concern More on reddit.com
