I got the Tempurpedic topper from Bed Bath and Beyond because I could return it. (Tempurpedic didn't allow returns on their toppers bought from them.) It was quite firm. I then purchased the 3.5lb Viscosoft 'select high density' mattress topper. I felt that was softer than the Tempurpedic one. So if the viscosoft was too firm the Tempurpedic one might be too. Did you return the Viscosoft already? If not, try taking it out of the cover and place the foam directly on your mattress. That might help soften the feel. I've found covers can substantially increase the latex or memory foam firmness. More on reddit.com

Has anyone tried both Tempurpedic’s Adapt topper and the Viscosoft topper to give advice on how they compare?
I tried the Viscosoft “High Density” topper and couldn’t even make it 3 nights on it. Way, way too firm for me as a 5’5, 132lb side sleeper with hip pain. I’m trying to make a MUCH too firm mattress sleep-able without the current 6.5” of various density toppers I am using now.

I purchased the TempurPedic adapt a few months ago for our main bedroom; hubby lost a bunch of weight and now finds out 3 year old firm mattress to be too firm. Went with the 3", skipped the cooling option. This coupon code should drop the normal retail price by 40%, which helps A LOT! TOPPERS40 Hubby loves the topper, it's made all the difference to him. I found it to be a little too soft, and it transfers motion easily, which sucks for me as a very light sleeper. I've recently moved into our guest bedroom due to differing work schedules and his snoring; I have a $400 foam Costco mattress in there that's barely seen any use. I'm starting to realize that I might be in there for a while, and I've been waking up with hip and back pain, so I wanted to try a topper on that bed too. I literally ordered the viscosoft an hour ago; I live in NC and was willing to drive to their factory to pick it up, but not an option, and they don't have a company store either. I found it was cheaper through their Amazon store, so I called to place the order and they price matched Amazon's price. Main reasons I didn't get another TempurPedic topper was cost and the viscosoft says it doesn't transfer motion much; we'll see how it goes. If not, I'll be returning the viscosoft and paying the extra $100 for another TempurPedic one...
