Reliable/quality are two attributes that vacmops typically lack. They're bad vacuums and mediocre mops at best. They sell you on convenience, but are from it. After every use you have to completely disassemble them, wash the rollers, wash the tanks and wash the filters. Then prop it all up to dry for 24 hours or they will stink. This is suggested in the manuals of every one I've seen. We picked one up for my parents when they built their new home with a lot of hard flooring as a gift and it's easily some of the worst money I've ever spent. It went in the trash in less than a year. If you must have one, find a corded model like a basic Bissell Crosswave. This at least eliminates the eventual battery failure from the eqausion and will perhaps give you some more longevity from the machine. More on reddit.com

Use case advice that will many even the crappiest one work 500% longer: Get two. Dry shopvac. Most of them come with optional vacuum cleaner bags like your home vacuum. Get and use them and let everyone who touches it know to check the bag and this is ONLY a dry shopvac. Wet shopvac. This is properly set up for wet pickup at all times. Mark each in a horrendous manner so there is no confusion. One of the reasons people hate shopvacs is the mixing of dirt and water which makes it smell like a dumpster at a Thai restaurant. if you use the above, you should have two pleasant and long lasting items.
