As a huge Nike collector, and an Adidas / Yeezy fan, I wanted to go for some other Adidas shoes and picked the Samba’s. They are totally new for me. Quality and looks: I compared them with some retail shots and they look pretty close to retail. The overall shape looks fine. The soles look really good and quality wise they also feel great. There are some minor color differences but nothing that I can worry about. Just small things. Stitching is also pretty good. No noticeable loose threads, wrong stitching, or anything weird at first sight. Flaws: The laces have a slightly more creamy color instead of white. I don’t mind it because I personally think that it fits a bit better with the adidas logo on the tongue. It actually looks nice. Also the color of the Samba logo should be just some darker tint. These are shoes that won’t get a lot of attention from anyone that want to QC on the streets. So I’ll be fine. Sizing: I picked shoe size 10, and the shoes fit perfectly. They are true-to-size (TTS). I made a photo of the inner sole with the measurements (in cm) so you can compare them with your own shoes if needed. Price: I paid $49 including shipping (Used the $8 off $50+ coupon to get some discount and shipping was free.) The retail price is 120 euro in my country. Conclusion: I’m happy. I picked a really common colorway as my first choice, and in the future I can imagine to order more exclusive versions. There are a lot of color versions to pick from and they also added a pair of Adidas sport socks for free. In my opinion $49 including shipping is pretty good for what I got. More on reddit.com

It is frustrating how confused some people are about basic things. To be clear, SMB is not SAMBA, and CIFS and SMB are not exactly the same. Rob Sobers wrote a nice little article that I will routinely be emailing people who get this all mixed up.
To be clear:

SMB 1.0: Server Message Block is a 30+ year old file sharing protocol that allows computers to read/write files to a remote host

CIFS: Common Internet File System is a dialect of SMB developed by Microsoft. You can have SMB without CIFS, but you cannot have CIFS without SMB as it is a form of SMB

SAMBA: A collection of applications that lets Linux and variants serve files, authenticate, Print and perform Name resolution.
On a side note, why in this day and age are SysAdmins requested to enable SMB 1.0. Seriously, why are manufacturers still making equipment in 2021 that only communicate using old protocols developed in the 80's?

I know that SMB is not SAMBA but I still call it SAMBA because it's easier to pronounce and everyone knows what I mean by that. So there's that.
