Credit score just dropped 100 points today after i made a late payment to Synchrony /Mattress Firm after i returned from vacation. I thought it was only a few days late, turns out there was no payment in December either. I remember thinking it was paid for some reason, either had autopay setup or scheduled a payment specifically for that month but that's not the case obviously. Never had anything go into collections and I had 100% payment history before this.
Where do I go from here? Can I just call?
Will I have a chance with a goodwill letter or a pay for delete letter? If so, can I email it somewhere? Where would I mail it?
I am freaking out
I have a CareCredit card through Synchrony which I make monthly payments on to pay off a medical loan. This month (September) my payment kicked back which resulted in my monthly payment being late. I called immediately and they said they would waive any late fees which may appear but that they can’t do anything about the impact to the credit score.
Does anyone know if 1. This will impact credit score and 2. If yes, is there anything I can do to reduce the impact?
I totally forgot to pay my CareCredit (Synchrony Bank) account yesterday, but paid this morning (1day late).
Im concerned my credit score get dinged, is that the case?
I know there are Grace Periods longer than 21-days, but that isn't the case here. I'm just wondering how this will effect me.
Late payments only appear on your credit report if they are 30+ days late. You may owe a late fee, but that should be about it.
Only company that does odd shit (in the credit cards i have) is american express. Money clears 1 day late? Get letter jacking up interest rate to 30% for next 6 months.
Good morning,
Legitimately forgot to pay my PayPal credit line (most of my other cards are on autopay to avoid this), and racked up a $29 late fee accidentally. Called in to request a courtesy fee waiver since usually most credit companies will do it once and prepared to grovel... Synchrony had the late fee waiver built into their automated system; didn't even need to speak to a representative, and the entire process took less than 30-seconds.
If you've experienced hardship or have a late fee, here is their full list of credit products. Call in and see if you are able to recoup some of your dough. $29 is an entire minimum monthly payment or filling up your gas tank... and if they've built it into the major retailer automated system, it takes mere moments.
Have a nice weekend, everyone, hope this helps.
