I recently tried watching a video on my prime but the video didn't get played at first I thought the problem was with my prime so I uninstalled it but then I noticed the problem was with my store so I tried to reset and repair it,it didn't work and I can't install apps in my store I signed out and signed in, Reinstalled store through powershell, ran a scan and other shit I could find on YouTube but nothing fixed it,does someone know what to do?I even uninstalled my antivirus.
Hey!
Since I performed a clean install of Windows 11 on my new drive, the Microsoft Store is not able to update apps anymore. When selecting a new app to download or when updating an existing app, the library shows "Pending" or "Downloading" on the app. I waited for an hour and none have finished yet.
In the screenshot below, you can see the behaviour: https://imgur.com/a/hrD1mIX
Things I have tried:- Performed a clean install of Windows 11 (twice)
- Updated Windows to latest version|
- Under the Microsoft Store app options selected repair and reset.|
- Signed out and back in again in the Microsoft store
- Ran wsreset.exe
- Ran Windows store apps troubleshooter (says it couldn't identify any problems)
- Used System File Checker, as explained here (which reported no issues)
- Re-registered the store app using: Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
None of these seem to have solved the issue. Does anyone know anything else I can try? Thanks!

This issue seemed to be on Microsoft's end, and was automatically resolved for me today (dec, 3rd).

Recently I have been wanting to play Minecraft bedrock with my friends so I tried to download via Microsoft Store and it would be on pending for hours just for the launcher download. Ive tried everything from windows updates sfc scans and more nothing seems to work for me. Also, its not just Minecraft every app I try to download end up stuck on pending and downloading 1 percent. Please help if you know any way I could fix this.
Running windows 11 arm 22621.2215 install and the microsoft store app has disappeared. Using windows key and entering "microsoft store" brings up a hit that when you click it runs a troubleshooter process that doesn't resolve issue. I've tried the following search results suggested solutions and none of them has worked.
run "Check for updates" and apply them if offered
Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth
WsReset.exe
Get-AppxPackage -allusers *WindowsStore* | Remove-AppxPackage followed by Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers Microsoft.WindowsStore* | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
download and install the xbox app and lauch it and wait for it to display prompt to install missing microsoft store app dependency which never happened on my setup
Any suggestions on another option that is known to work?
During November 2024, many of us faced a very annoying issue with MS Store.
It seems to happen on Win 10 and 11.
Symptoms
Apps fails to:
update with the message: “Something happened on our end”
returned errors can be: 0x800706BE, 0x800706BA but mostly 0x80073CF9
uninstalled, maybe reset either
returned errors: 0x80073CFA New apps can be downloaded and installed though.
Any AppxPackage commands will fail to update or remove package with the same errors. winget upgrade return there is no app to upgrade while you know it is wrong.
Most of common methods to fix the store and apps will fail.
Solutions
Try method 4 only if previous methods failed.
Method 1
Solution mentioned here. Go to Windows Settings Win+I -> Apps -> Apps & Features. Search for Microsoft Windows App Runtime Singleton by typing singleton. Click on Advanced options then Terminate, repair then reset if repair failed. Next, open this link , click on View in store then try to update this app from there clicking retry or else. If it works, try to update your apps in the MS Store. If it still fails, try next method.
Method 2
Solution posted here
Download the latest WinAppSDK ( https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/apps/windows-app-sdk/downloads ) (Don't install it yet)
Close all apps, and restart PC
Install the previously downloaded latest WinAppSDK
Open Microsoft Store App and hit
RETRYfor each app that was 'stuck' one-by-one ... they should all now install correctly without errors.
Method 3
As mentioned here, this method was successful for one user.
Open a PowerShell console as admin. Don’t use the Terminal app but the built-in PowerShell console. Run these commands one by one:
dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup sfc /scannow
Reboot PC Right click on the MS Store startup icon>more>settings and apply repair AND reset. If it succeeds or not, reboot PC again. Test if MS Store is fixed by running the updates.
Method 4: in-place upgrade
That’s the method that worked for me. YOU NEED AT LEAST 40 GB OF FREE SPACE ON YOUR C:\ DRIVE. If not, you will have to proceed with a fresh Windows install. Sorry
Download the media creation tool provided by MS.
Go there for Win 10 or there for Win 11 and click the
downloadbutton below the Create Windows 10 installation media section
Just follow the steps, letting all options by default. Just be sure at the end that the option that preserves your data and apps is checked.
This will reinstall Windows just like if you were upgrading it, preserving your data and apps, for the most of them. Some custom very specific settings can be reset but most users are not concerned as they never touch them. Here are the reset I noticed:
custom keyboard layout installed with kbedit are gone
hyperenabledoesn’t seem to run at start
those registry values were reset if there were customized like:
; To disable the win+shift+ctrl+alt shortcut that by default opens online Office apps ; restart explorer to apply [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced] "DisabledHotkeys"="VCFGHOYZQN" [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\ms-officeapp\Shell\Open\Command] @="rundll32"
comment if you know other settings reset by the upgrade process

Making changes to your system BIOS settings or disk setup can cause you to lose data. Always test your data backups before making changes to your PC.

I had a similar issue and it turned out that the ISP's DNS server was the problem. Try to set your dns to cloudflare for example. (1.1.1.1 1.0.0.1)
Worth a try
Microsoft store app is not installed nor an app
For some reason I have lost access to Microsoft store. It all started when I was trying to troubleshoot my Xbox app not downloading. I have tried running powershell commands to download but nothing has worked. I have reinstalled windows 11 keeping files and went back to previous versions but I have had no luck. I am starting to get desperate on what to do.
Open cmd as administrator and type wsreset -i
It may take a couple of minutes.

Hi Rob. My name is Lester, and I am an Independent Advisor. I understand the difficulties you've been facing, and I want to assure you that I'll be giving my all to provide the help you need.
When did the issue start to occur? To run the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter, alternatively, you can also type 'Fix Windows Store' in your search bar next to the start menu and then press Enter. Follow the prompts to run the troubleshooter. Thank you.
I hope this information is helpful. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any more questions.
Guys I've found the solution... All this is happening because of some bugs in ur pc because of some errors during installation... The simple solution is to install windows 10 back by wiping everything in your pc... So I would recommend backup everything and do a fresh install of windows 10... Then u can come back to windows 11 again and everything will be fine... This also happens when u install windows 11 on an unsupported hardware.. So be careful guys
Edit: RESOLVED, but not solved (ie, don't know why this happened), but I found this article while searching and it was exactly my issue:
The true fix for missing Windows 11 Store App. - Microsoft Tech Community
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is an observation of a bug during a fresh install, not a request for support.
I've just completed a full fresh install of Win 11 Pro 2H22. Again, this was a fresh install, not an upgrade.
When I search installed apps, I can see that Microsoft Store is not present. When I search from the start menu, I can see that Microsoft Store is not present.
Weird, right?
One more thing I noticed was in the Get Started app, it presents some suggested apps to install and a link to do so by opening the Microsoft Store, but that also fails.
Now please, don't suggest that I simply run some Powershell command or go to the app settings and try to reset or repair the Microsoft Store, it's not possible. Those are not possible because the Microsoft Store is not installed.
I'm actually not here to see if anyone can necessarily help me, it's more of a PSA or word of caution.
I'm not sure why this is the case and I didn't make any election other than defaults during the installation process.
Did anyone else trying a Win 11 2H22 fresh install face this?
Hi everyone,
I’m having a frustrating issue with the Microsoft Store on my Windows 11 PC. For the past month, it simply won’t work. Whenever I try to open it, I get an error message, and nothing seems to fix it. I’ve tried several common troubleshooting steps, but the problem persists.
First, I tried resetting the Microsoft Store through Settings → Apps → Apps & Features → Reset. That didn’t work. I also tried running the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter, but it reported no issues or failed to resolve the problem.
Next, I created a new Microsoft account and even tried using an Outlook account, thinking the issue might be account-related, but the Store still wouldn’t open. I checked that all Windows services related to Store and licensing are enabled, and they are. I also attempted reinstalling the Microsoft Store using PowerShell commands, but that didn’t solve it either.
I’m at a loss at this point. I don’t want to reinstall Windows unless it’s absolutely necessary, and I’ve tried searching for other fixes online, but most guides either don’t work or require complicated steps that I’m not comfortable doing.
Has anyone here experienced this issue and actually fixed it? I would really appreciate a step-by-step solution or any advice on what might be going wrong. Any help would be amazing!
And here are my device specifications
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8550U CPU @ 1.80GHz (1.99 GHz) Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Pen and touch Touch support with 10 touch points
Thanks in advance!
for some time now, my windows store hasn’t been able to update any apps (such as whatsapp as an example) and it just says ‘something went wrong’ on all my updates I try to do.
The xbox app has barely been working because of it and many other annoying issues because of the store. i’ve tried repairing the app in windows settings and when nothing worked I finally reset the store thinking that would help.
Now the microsoft store straight up won’t open and when I try to go to the app settings, the windows settings window just crashes
running scripts in powershell/cmd doesn’t work either because there is no app there in the first place anymore. wsreset also comes up with the same error about there not being an app in the first place to reset.
also, I went online to download the installer for the microsoft store straight from the microsoft website but when I run it, it kinda just opens the install window and won’t do anything
i’m really stuck for ideas as to what to do, I can’t do a fresh install of windows until may because of how much stuff I already have on my pc to do with university work such as projects and stuff.
any help would be greatly appreciated
So I have had this problem for a while now where nothing can be downloaded from my Microsoft store. Because of this I cannot install the Xbox app nor play any of the games I used to own that was downloaded through the Xbox app. Whenever I try to install an app the “Retry” button would appear and under it would say “There has been an error”. The code of this error would be: 0x80072F8F. I have tried many ways and YouTube videos to fix this problem, but any suggestions or help is appreciated.
Microsoft Store is completely missing from my brand new fresh-install Windows 11 desktop. Does anybody have a suggestion. (I don't use the Store much, but there are a couple of apps I would like that are, annoyingly, only available throught the Store.)
OS: Windows 11 Home, Version 10.0.22621 Build 22621
If I click an "install app" link on the store website either nothing happens, or it navigates to the URL ms-windows-store://home which is blank (presumably because the machine does not have a registered handler for that protocol.)
MS Store is not listed in the installed apps.
Running wsreset.exe gives the message 'We cannot open this ms-windows-store link / Your device needs a new app to open this link'. This is consistent with Store not being installed.
The Windows Store Apps troubleshooter returns 'Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem'.
Internet search suggested manual install from Powershell (Admin) using the command:
Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
However, this simply returns immediately with no output, error or otherwise, and still does not fix the problem.
So I'm at the end of my rope. Any ideas?
I have a windows 10 pc but none of the microsoft apps (i.e. Xbox, windows store, calculator) open. They just show up on to taskbar for for a split second but don’t actually do anything. I tried everything I can that I found on the internet but nothing helps. Please help me fix this
Edit: I’ve found a weird fix to this problem. I downloaded the Xbox app and all the other apps started working. I don’t know what the actual solution is but at least it worked for me.
My microsoft Store Library wont update or download anny apps. I wantet to play minecraft but it says 'Somthing happened on our end' and a fail Code: 0x80073CF6. I cant update or downlode anythin, and it has been like this for months. Please help me.
