Printers that don't require an app?
Which brand should I purchase from between HP, Canon and Epson?
Looking for a non scammy printer with no weird subscription plan bs
Hi all, I'm looking for a reasonably cheap (less than $250 or so) all-in-one printer that does not require an app (or bending over backwards to not use the app).
I recently purchased the HP DeskJet 2755 and spent probably 2 weeks trying to figure out a way to use it without the HP Smart app. It had been several years since I last bought a printer and it never even occurred to me that a printing app might be a thing. It seems that this has become the norm for most budget printers?
So now that I've gone full Office Space on the 2755, I'm looking for an alternative. It's totally fine if it's not wireless, I just need to be able to scan/copy/print without having HP/Canon/whoever inserting their bloatware between my two devices that are sitting three feet apart.
Can anyone point me towards something along those lines?
(PS. I haven't destroyed the printer. I will probably take it to Goodwill.)

Edit a year later: I ended up going to a local electronics store, and got this one: https://epson.com/For-Work/Printers/Inkjet/WorkForce-Pro-WF-3820-Wireless-All-in-One-Printer/p/C11CJ07201
I've been pretty happy with it. Setup was a breeze, and it works well. :D
I’m mainly looking for a home printer for school but can’t decide between these 3 brands
