Hello all. I have been tasked by the foreman to make an bi weekly work schedule for our service techs. We have a crew of let's say 30 techs. They all work together during the week. Every other weekend one crew of the techs 15 out of 30 are on Call while the others are not. The crew also alternates holidays time off. What is a creative way I can make this schedule. He currently uses an excel sheet that he wants to steer away from. In that sheet...one column has the service techs names and the columns after are the dates, i.e Monday 3/27/2023...Tuesday 3/28/2023 and so on. The rows with their name have 1 or 2 depending on their crew. Also if the date column is the date with a specific tech has vacation time, then the cell in their row will state vac. If they are on call, it will read ON CALL, if they are off it will simple read as OFF. He would like the dates revolving automatically so all he has to do is change it if they have vacation. What creative ideas can you throw my way. They could be custom sheets or anything really. I just need creative ideas/templates because I am really at a standstill with this. I want to impress and have upper management like WOW! this is very cool and creative and easy to use. He wants to be able to print this out and put it on the schedule board so the techs can see their schedule. Please help!!!! Again, and and all ideas are welcomed!

I'm using the "Daily schedule" Template from google sheets fyi.
When I change the date from C2, the only thing that changes is the dates. The schedule itself remains the same; only the date changes For example:
I make, and complete a schedule for the week of Sept 04
I change the date to make it the week of Sept 11
Any changes made on this week will adjust the previous weeks to match. Essentially I can only have "one" daily schedule
Hopefully that makes sense, I'm having issues describing this lol. Anyway if you understood, is there a way to do this through google sheets? An hourly "daily schedule" where I can create the schedule for several weeks ahead of time?
Skip this part if you want: Just explaining what my needs are for a schedule:
If you want to know why, or my "needs", it's because my school semester just started, and the classes are all over the place.
Some weeks I'll be in-class 3 days a week at set times
Some weeks I'll be in-class 4 days a week, and have an extra online class 2 days a week
Some weeks, 2 of my classes changes when and where we have class.
In Febuary, one of the classes turns into an online-class, until Early march, and then becomes online again in early April
In January I have extra orentation classes on-top of my regular classes at different times.
On top of all this I also need to renew my certifications; which involves a one-day class
Many more scheduling issues than this.
For that reason, I'm finding a simple calendar just isnt enough to showcase all this information. So I'm looking for a way to set an hourly schedule.
I wanna help out my mom with scheduling one by making one on google sheets, but idk how. Does anyone know good resources that teach you how to make them? Please let me know.
