Is it worth downloading the latest version or won't it change anything?

Or is it just purely useless
I've never updated my BIOS. Do you recommend updating to the latest version? I have a Ryzen 5600 and I haven't updated the chipset drivers either.
So far my PC is working fine. There is a new bios available through MSI but it seems risky. I hear about people bricking their motherboards and I don't want that. Also reading online if you mess something up your motherboard is bricked as well.
Just put the new BIOS onto a USB stick and update from the BIOS itself. There is little risk if you do it inside the BIOS and not Windows.
As this is a new architecture, most likely you will want to do it at some point.
EDIT: Obviously, once it starts updating, don't interrupt it or turn it off. Just let it do its thing until something asks for your input. Never assume it's done. My whole PC shuts off and turns back on during a BIOS update. Just don't be impulsive.
Yes, you should update the BIOS, but do it this way:
-
Copy the file to an USB stick, restart.
-
Enter BIOS, load default/optimised settings, save and exit, restart.
-
Enter BIOS, flash the new bios.
-
Enter BIOS, load default/optimised values, restart.
-
Do whatever you want in BIOS.
