Last weekend I assembled the Yardistry 12' x 16' gazebo that I purchased from Costco earlier in the spring. I enlisted help from two brothers-in-law, two other friends, and my 24-year-old son. All of us are quite handy. Tedious is the apt word. Sorting pieces took an hour or more. Removing plastic cling wrap from various pieces took another hour. After sorting pieces on the garage on Saturday morning while it was raining, we then assembled the posts and main supports around the perimeter. We also assembled all of the roof panels in my yard, two at a time, after the rain had stopped in there afternoon. All this took about 7-8 hours, and we were pretty spent. On Sunday, we put the roof panels in place then assembled and installed the joists. This took a little more than 3 hours, but we definitely needed all hands to get the panels up. I chopped up about a third of the cardboard for our recycling pickup last week, and today chopped another third. Another two pickups, and I'll be rid of the cardboard. We finally put our furniture under the gazebo today and will start using it this week. The end result looks terrific, but be prepared for a multi-day effort and enlist the help of at least 3 handy friends for the better part of a weekend. And don't discount the trash you'll generate. It takes time to pick up/process and takes up quite a bit of space in your trash and recycling bins. Good luck! More on reddit.com
