Can't use Google Play Balance to pay for YouTube premium

Have you tried to subscribe in the app or browser? I think paying with Google Play balance only works on mobile but I'm not sure. Google Help says you can't buy subscriptions in your country but it says the same about Turkey and that's where I bought my YT Premium with Play balance so it probably means 3rd party subscriptions and the article is a little outdated. I wish they would just merge Google Play balance and Google Pay. It's so dumb we're locked into that stupid ecosystem and not be able to spend funds anywhere else. I have like half my funds expiring next week and can't use it on anything. I was going to renew Google One, but they wouldn't allow me to renew it a month early. I tried to renew Disney+ but renewal isn't in app on android. It pushes me to the browser. There's literally nothing useful to spend that much Google Play money on. I've just been using it to gift twitch subscriptions cuz there's nothing else I can use it on. More on reddit.com
