Another unique problem again with the YouTube app on my 8K Samsung TV - will not play newly uploaded 1080p60Hz video - Samsung Community
October 25, 2025 - By the way, when reaching out to YouTube, they say the problem is Samsung - even though they are responsible for their own app to work on all platforms. I have a Premium YouTube account. With the mentioned problem in 2020, it ended up with Samsung having to fix their own firmware updated version which had caused a problem for the YouTube app in the first place.

r/youtube on Reddit: YouTube app not working on Samsung Galaxy S10
September 24, 2024 -

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a desperate mode right now. For some reason the YouTube app doesn't want to load up on my Galaxy S10 phone, I think I did an update an hour ago and every time I open it, it keeps crashing and it won't start. And if I hold the app and go to search or something else, it won't let me play anything. I've already deleted the cache, data, uninstalled and reinstalled the app and I'm still getting this. Any idea or feedback? Thank you in advance.

r/googleplay on Reddit: YouTube app won't update
February 7, 2024 -

As the title says, YouTube will not update for me. Whenever I go to open up the YouTube page in Google Play I get a blank screen with an error message, "something went wrong, try again." Additionally, my YouTube app itself informs me that I need to update when I open it, and will not let me access anything other than a button that takes me to the play store.

I've tried every fix I can think of. I have cleared the cache from every relevant app, I've tried accessing Google Play through several accounts I have defaulted on my device, I've restarted my phone, reset my phone, I've force disabled YouTube and Google Play and re-opened them, and I've gone through my At&T's phone test.

If it helps, I'm on a Galaxy G8-thin Q X, using the current Android OS, and my play store is up to date, and I have 65 unused GB of storage.

Any and all help is appreciated.
